CERT Application
The Community Emergency Response Toolkit (CERT App) is a digital educational platform designed to equip communities with essential knowledge on emergency response, first aid, and injury prevention. Developed by Sadak Sathi free of cost for HAPSA Nepal, the platform focuses on making life-saving education simple, visual, and accessible to everyone -especially those living in rural and underserved regions.
The CERT App hosts 19 short, easy-to-follow educational videos on critical topics such as burn prevention, drowning response, choking rescue, road traffic injury care, and more. The content is available in two languages and can be accessed offline, ensuring uninterrupted learning even in areas with limited or no internet connectivity.
In Nepal, where formal paramedic services are limited and reaching a medical facility can take hours, communities often become the first responders by default. However, most people have never been taught what to do in such situations. The CERT App is built to bridge this gap by transforming ordinary citizens into informed and confident first responders through practical, localized, and culturally relevant learning.
By combining digital education, community empowerment, and real-world emergency preparedness, the CERT App aims to create a safer, more responsive society—where knowledge becomes the first line of defense.
