Nepal’s road safety landscape faces challenges such as inefficient licensing procedures, lack of enforcement, and minimal legal protection for bystanders assisting accident victims. Without strong policies, road traffic injuries continue to pose a major public health threat, leading to thousands of preventable deaths and injuries annually.

At Sadak Sathi, we believe that policy reforms play a key role in fostering responsible driving behavior, ensuring fair law enforcement, and encouraging public participation in road safety efforts. Through research, advocacy, and collaboration with stakeholders, we are working towards practical, evidence-based policies that will create safer roads for everyone. Two key areas of focus in our policy advocacy efforts are licensing policies and the Good Samaritan Law.
